Our fabrics for clothing reflect the changes and needs of the market and are inspired by seasonal trends.
For Autumn Winter, we offer fabrics that embrace softness and warmth, proposing ideal solutions for comfortable and refined garments: super-soft, warm-handed velvets in viscose, silk, modal, tencel and cotton, plain and ribbed, with irregular and crushed effects; heavy cottons, moleskins and textured.
For Spring Summer we focus on light, fresh and colourful fabrics, perfect for garments that celebrate the joy of life. Linen, cotton, silk and viscose.

History
A tradition born in 1972
Pontex was founded in 1972 in Modena, Emilia-Romagna (Italy), a land where excellence and know-how are a trademark.
It was founded by entrepreneur Pio Ferretti, who had extensive experience in ennobling and customising fabrics for clothing.
In those years, the company started out as buying and selling shuttle fabric intended for the clothing and ready-to-wear market, particularly in the Veneto and Emilia-Romagna regions. Slowly it started expanding worldwide, until it became one of the best known companies in the shuttle fabric sector for the Made in Italy.
Since 5 December 2022 Pontex has been a limited liability company.
On 20 March 2022 Pontex turned fifty.

Pontex was founded in 1972 by the entrepreneurial skills of Pio Ferretti from Modena.
1972
Pontex becomes a Spa
Pontex became a joint-stock company with a paid-up share capital of over 1,000,000: the company laid the foundations to develop a commercial reality that today transforms shuttle fabric from a basic product into a refined one.
1976
Luca Ferretti
Luca Ferretti joins the company: with him, the experience and skills acquired in ready-to-wear fashion allow him to identify the trends that will become established from season to season: thus the two annual Autumn-Winter and Spring-Summer Collections are developed.
1989
Made in Italy
Pontex Spa began its worldwide expansion to become one of the best known companies in the shuttle fabric sector for the Made in Italy.
1990
Letizia Ferretti
Luca is joined by his sister Letizia, the second generation and daughter of Pio Ferretti: new blood to the family-run company, which extends its horizons beyond the borders, giving a further boost to the sales department.
2002
CEO and Managing Director
Letizia becomes CEO and managing director of Pontex Spa.
Thanks to the company’s international vocation and the extensive sales network developed Pontex exports to more than thirty countries around the world.
2013
Pontex turns 50
On 20 March 2022 Pontex will be fifty years old: an important milestone, fifty years of history, fifty years of tradition, fifty years of passion and tenacious dedication.
