Wearing outerwear has never been so trendy thanks to resin-coated clothing fabrics: innovative and technological jackets and raincoats with a casual, stylish look.

The resin-coated clothing fabrics can be of different materials and colors and allow you to create garments that combine comfort and efficiency, style and trend.

 To wear in all seasons.

Resin-coated fabrics: what they are and what characteristics they have

Resinated fabrics are natural or synthetic fabrics subjected to the resin operation, through the deposition on the textile fibers of a resin that can be natural or acrylic.  They have versatile characteristics of great utility: despite the resin treatment, they still maintain lightness and texture.

They are very strong and compact and can be combined very well with other fabrics. Antibacterial, anti-stain, anti-mold, anti-crease, resin-coated fabrics can also be ironed.

Biological resins

The novelty of the Pontex Research and Development team is sustainable: bio-based organic resins with a palette of natural colors, of vegetable origin and therefore made through eco-compatible processes, which do not use chemicals: no toxicity, therefore, and absence of allergic reactions on the skin.

Pontex also uses resins with natural dyes to make jackets, gabardines and trousers.

Timeless resins, resins without season

Cotton, organic cotton, linen and nylon are the most used textile fibers in the Pontex Collection to make resin-coated clothing fabrics.

Each fabric is rigorously checked and subjected to quality control tests: calendering treatments, water repellent, spray test.

Resin-coated fabrics do not have seasonality: they allow you to create clothing to be worn in spring-summer, as well as in autumn-winter: what varies according to the request are the weight and compositions of the fabric used.

It is possible to resin the nylon to make a winter duvet, or to resin the linen / cotton to create a duster that is water resistant and water repellant.

We also play with resins to change the optical effect of the fabric, for example through coatings that allow you to obtain different color nuances between the right and the reverse.

The resins change the hand of the fabric and can give different aspects, also increasing its resistance: this is the case of the “Barbour” hand, for example, which gives body and vigor to the fabric for clothing and a vintage look to the garment.

To produce clothes that last over time: an objective that must absolutely be pursued to make the fashion system circulate: a fashion that creates durable and desirable products, that is clothes that remain beautiful over time and are always “in fashion”, is circular.

Maximum customization

Fabrics with Structured Texture: when crossing is fashion

Piquet, dobby, broken twill effects to “play” with fabric and give identity to each piece of clothing, using the best yarns The fabrics for clothing with structured texture are obtained thanks to a particular weaving, where the final effect is determined by the way in which the yarns of the warp (parallel to selvages) intersect those of the weft (perpendicular to selvages). Each type of structured texture gives life and structure to the fabric because, depending on the crossing of yarns made by the movements of the loom, unexpected, original and unique effects are created.     For the Collection Spring Summer 2025, Pontex has realised a capsule of structured-texture fabrics with high-quality raw materials: natural fabrics one-hundred per cent cotton and stretch cottons (cotton with elastomer) to grant comfort and utmost wearability, added to utmost resistance and durability, to pieces of clothing like, for example, trousers. Thanks to advanced weaving techniques, Pontex realises and proposes fabrics with structured texture with three-dimensional effects, piquet, dobby, broken twill effects, double cotton satin with slub effect. The particular crossing of warp and weft and the use of high-quality raw materials allow to obtain fabrics with unique and particular effects, with more or less sustained hands depending on the structured texture being more or less “open” with yarns tighter or less tight in the crossing. For the Spring Summer season, Pontex also “plays” with untied effects, thanks to the particular construction of the fabric art. 01618/P05 MICHELLE PXT 100% COTTON width 147/150 weight 150m2 230 mtl For the Spring Summer season, Pontex also “plays” with effects like knitting, that make the piece of clothing likewise a comfortable sweatshirt. art. 01516/P05  ELARA STRETCH PXT 98% COTTON 2%ELASTOMER width 143/146           weight 195m2  285mtl Each fabric of this Capsule is designed inside our Style Office, that works in strict collaboration with our Customers to create always new proposals, experiment new types of crossing and new techniques and thus offer exclusive products able to satisfy a more and more demanding international clientele. Therefore, a structured texture defines which kind of fabric will be obtained from a specific weaving. navigate_next
