Christmas in solidarity: this year too, Pontex is with Piccoli Grandi Cuori, the association supporting pediatric heart surgery 

To our company collaborators a Christmas greeting card with a donation that supports children with heart disease

This year, once again, we decided to open the doors of Christmas at Piccoli Grandi Cuori (Little Big Hearts), the association that has helped for 25 years those people with congenital heart disease and their families, from diagnosis to therapy. In particular, we focused on supporting one of the projects of this association, the guesthouse  Polo dei Cuori (Pole of Hearts) in which the families of those children with heart disease (born with malformations of the heart) – under treatment at the Department of Paediatric  and Childhood Cardiology and Heart Surgery of the Policlinico (Hospital) di Sant’Orsola IRCCS in Bologna – can stay during the period of hospitalization that often coincides with long term care or heart transplant.

Very often, the parents of these children come from far away, from the South of Italy and sometimes also from Countries outside Europe, like in the case of Bereket who is 12 years old and arrived from Ethiopia with his mother. Bereket was born with a congenital heart disease and was accommodated in the house of the association on the 7th December; he will stay there until he returns to his Country of origin: here, the volunteers of the association are providing to him and his family everything they need for their stay, supported and followed by the staff of psychologists and social workers of Piccoli Grandi Cuori.

All the collaborators and customers of our company have received a personalised greeting letter created in partnership with Piccoli Grandi Cuori, to support the reception project of the house.
