The Pontex Capsule Collection is dressed in strength, compactness and sustainability thanks to resin-coated clothing fabrics ideal for a technological and innovative outerwear look

Wearing an outerwear has never been so trendy thanks to resin-coated fabrics for clothing: innovative, high-tech jackets and mackintoshes with a casual, stylish look.
Resin fabrics for clothing can be of different materials and colours and allow the creation of garments that combine comfort and efficiency, style and trend.
To be worn in all seasons.
Resin fabrics: what they are and what characteristics they have
Resin-coated fabrics for clothing are natural or synthetic fabrics subjected to the operation of resinisation, through the deposition on the textile fibres of a resin that can be natural or acrylic. They have versatile characteristics of great utility: despite the resin treatment, they still retain their lightness and texture.
They are very strong and compact and can be combined very well with other fabrics. Antibacterial, stain-resistant, anti-mould, crease-resistant, resin-coated fabrics can also be ironed.
Biological resins

The novelty of the Pontex Research and Development team is sustainable: bio-based resins with a palette of natural colours, of vegetable origin and therefore made through eco-friendly processes that do not use chemicals: no toxicity, therefore, and no allergic reactions on the skin.
Pontex also uses resins with natural dyes to make jackets, gabardines and trousers.
Timeless, seasonless resins

Cotton, organic cotton, linen and nylon are the textile fibres most commonly used in the Pontex Collection to make resin-coated garment fabrics.
Each fabric is rigorously checked and tested for quality control: calendering treatments, water repellent, spray tests.

Resin fabrics have no seasonality: they allow garments to be worn in spring-summer, as well as in autumn-winter: what varies according to demand are the weights and compositions of the fabric used.

It is possible to resin nylon to make a winter duvet, or to resin linen/cotton to make a duster that is water resistant and water repellent.

Resins are also used to change the optical effect of the fabric, e.g. by means of coatings that allow different colour nuances between the front and back.
Resins change the hand of the fabric and can give it different aspects, even increasing its resistance: this is the case of the ‘Barbour’ hand, for example, which gives body and vigour to the clothing fabric and a vintage look to the garment.
To produce clothes that last over time: a goal that absolutely must be pursued in order to make the fashion system circular: fashion that creates durable and desirable products, i.e. clothes that remain beautiful over time and are always ‘in fashion’.
Maximum customisation
In the Pontex proposal, every customer’s request can be customised: thanks to our collaboration with Italian companies specialising in resin-coating, we are able to supply any type of resin-coated fabric for clothing.
